Candace Huntly
Consultant (Toronto office)
Throughout my professional career, I have always been fortunate to work in areas that that I am passionate about. My diverse experience in the fields of education, event management, labour relations, and entertainment have shaped who I am as a professional and as a person, and enabled me to provide a unique perspective on almost any situation. I enjoy being unconventional and asking questions that make us stop and think before we act.
I thrive in roles where I can challenge myself to discover, explore and create communications that have true business impact, by leveraging both my strategic and creative abilities. Curiosity is part of my DNA, and my love of learning (as evidenced by my degrees in both music and education, and my professional performance career) brings me much joy and inspiration.
After teaching and helping young people to shape their own career decisions, I decided I wanted to pursue my own dream of working in communications.
When I completed my MBA at the Ted Rogers School of Management, I was seeking an unconventional role. So when the opportunity presented itself to work in labour relations, I did not hesitate to accept. This was virtually unheard of within my graduating class. I had the pleasure of telling people, “I am an MBA and I decided to take a position within a labour union.” In fact, most people thought I was joking! My thesis research focused on strategic labour-related campaigns in Canada, resulting in a comparative study discussing success factors for Canadian unions.
With a strong professional background in the entertainment industry as a singer and actor, experience in jewellery design, a love of sports, and a team-oriented spirit from years of competitive soccer, I often bring a unique perspective to different situations. I enjoy the creative and unexpected, and thrive on new challenges and opportunities.
Now my dreams are a reality! I am excited to work with CASACOM, a company with such a great energy, a culture of curiosity and innovative approach.
And how do you embrace curiosity in your role?
