How to Apologize:
It’s been two weeks since Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling was banned for life from the NBA and his recent interview with Anderson Cooper offers useful lessons for professional communicators; lessons on what not to do. For those that didn’t see it, Sterling apologized for what he said, but most people would agree that is not how an apology should go down. President of Affect and contributor to PR News’ Crisis Management Guidebook Vol. 7, Sandra Fathi, provides some useful tips for meaningful public apologies when an organization’s or individual’s reputation has been significantly damaged.

Who is king? In a report released by Sandvine Corp., Netflix Inc. was named ‘king’ of North American Internet traffic usage. Internet traffic rose to 34% this month and their users consumed an average of 212 gigabytes. Their users account for 29.7% of all information downloaded during peak usage hours by North American broadband-connected households in March. In seeing such momentum, Amazon and Google are working relentlessly to advance their online streaming services. The trend represents a growing change for Canadians – they are spending money upgrading bandwith demands and getting rid of cable TV.
