In honour of Oral Health Month (April 2017), the Order of Dental Hygienists of Quebec (OHDQ) wanted to have a significant presence in the media and position the profession of dental hygienists as “professionals in the field of oral health.”
Strategy and Activities
Developed an integrated strategy focusing on press relations and influencers, advertising content and social media.
Commissioned an omnibus survey of Quebecer’s oral health habits to elicit media interest. Data revealed that access to hygienists for children and seniors varies greatly from one region to another.
Wrote an open letter highlighting the autonomy claimed by dental hygienists to practice without the supervision of a dentist.
Prepared radio clips and an interactive advertisement for La Presse+ to attract visitors to the public kiosk that the OHDQ had on the occasion of National Hygienists Day.
Approached 20 mommy bloggers with personalized kits containing a toothbrush, fun facts about dental health and a colouring book reflecting the brand colours of OHDQ.
